We are making our Energy Assistance Program more accessible to low-income Seattle residents struggling to keep up with their home heating bills. From satellite locations to an online application process, CAMP’s philosophy is simple: be as accessible as possible to clients by meeting them where they are in the community.

it is not always easy for clients to travel to our offices in the Central District for an Energy Assistance Program appointment. That’s why we are leading the way by embracing technology and the Internet: clients can download the LIHEAP application from our website and mail in their paperwork. The goal is to make it simple and easy for clients to get the help they need to pay their utility bills. In fact, funds are still available this year through our Energy Assistance Program to eligible households within Seattle. Applicants do not have to have their utilities disconnected for nonpayment or be behind on their bill to apply.

“CAMP has been a huge help,” said Jolene, one of our Energy Assistance clients. “The help goes beyond sending someone to fix the furnace or help pay bills. It really had an effect on my whole life when CAMP stepped in to assist me.”

CAMP’s office is centrally located near downtown Seattle and easily accessible by freeways and public transportation. For clients that are housebound, including the disabled or elderly, CAMP has a home outreach service that travels to their residences. CAMP program staff also visits satellite locations throughout the city to meet with clients.
