Central Area Motivation Program is dedicated to reducing the impact of poverty on families and individuals through providing services and promoting institutional community change through advocacy. We identify and address the causes of poverty and remove barriers to self-sufficiency.
CAMP was founded in 1964 as part of the first generation of community-inspired organizations funded by the Economic Opportunity Act. Over the course of its 45-year history, the agency has been instrumental in combating poverty in the central area of Seattle, supporting basic needs and providing education and assistance to the community and beyond. |

CAMP assists Seattle households with home-heating costs through two programs: the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Puget Sound Energy's HELP Program. It is possible to receive grants through both PSE/HELP and LIHEAP in the same program year.
CAMP's food bank is open Wednesdays form 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. as well as Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Home deliveries are made on Mondays and Tuesdays to homebound individuals living in the following nearby ZIP codes: 98112, 98122, and 98102. Call (206) 812-4970 for more information or to be placed on our home delivery list.
The Re-Licensing Program assists greater Seattle area residents in reinstating driving privileges that have been revoked or suspended due to unpaid traffic citations. The program conducts workshops and offers support services to achieve full compliance with court mandates.
YouthBuild's mission in partnership with CAMP is to increase the level of education, employment, and leadership for out-of-school youth in King County. YouthBuild is an innovative school with job training, community service, and developmental programs designed to assist youth in serving their community and building their futures by gaining experience in the skills and trades involved in home construction.
